SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President, the Human Resources Manager will drive all HR-related functions in support of the company’s strategic objectives, while ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and regulations in addition to consistent application of the organization’s policies and procedures. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this individual will actively participate in the development of company policies and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Develop and administer Human Resources policies and procedures to support the company’s strategic objectives, while ensuring compliance with current federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Administer payroll on a bi-weekly basis to include providing Luxfer’s Payroll Department with all new hire paperwork, HR Action Forms or additional payroll documentation. 
  • Updates payroll records such as the monthly employee gift reconciliation spreadsheet, vacation tracking logs, sick pay logs, PTO logs, etc.
  • Accurately tracking time and attendance by ensure data is properly recorded and updated in Kronos and employee trackers, return to work and other documentation is submitted for each absence, tardy, vacation request, etc.
  • Execute recruitment process including job postings, applicant tracking, prescreening candidates, conducting interviews, negotiating offers of employment, pre-employment checks, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Administer employee benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 401k, pension, and stock purchase plan.
  • Coach leaders on employee performance management, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Respond to employee grievances and investigate complaints.
  • Manage employee communications timetable, ensuring newsletters, town hall meetings, roundtable meetings
  • Responsible for continuous employee engagement and improvement to employee morale, communicating and coordinating with departments to improve morale within their teams.
  • Conduct safety committee meetings, coordinate safety training, and develop safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA/Cal OSHA regulations.
  • Manage employee rewards programs, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Administer performance management system and coordinate internal and external training programs to promote employee development.
  • Responsible for management of performance appraisal timetable adherence
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure compliance with contract provisions.
  • Manage department budgets for recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  • Provide support for major corporate initiatives, projects, and strategy implementation.
  • Working with colleagues in own department and from other areas of the business, to build proactive, effective, cross-functional communication and collaborative ways of working
  • Work under the core values of the organization through your individual actions and the accountability of your team.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required and participate as & when necessary in Companywide initiatives & projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires access to our export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology and services.  These items are restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. and properly licensed foreign persons.  Therefore, employment is contingent on compliance with ITAR regulations and successfully obtaining and maintaining the necessary export authorization license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of progressive experience in Human Resources. PHR/SPHR highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing business is preferred. 
  • Experience/knowledge of the safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Progressive experience in coaching and mentoring managers, team leaders and employees in such topics as conflict resolution, change management and communication also required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public is required.

Additional Information:
  • $80,000 to $100,000 Annually DOE (depending on experience)
  • Monday - Friday (7am - 4pm)
